How much does an ignition interlock cost?
The average cost of an ignition interlock device in California ranges from $70 to $150 per month for the device lease alone. Most providers add separate fees for installation ($75 to $150), calibration visits ($50 to $100 every 30 to 60 days), removal ($50 to $100), and service calls. For a typical 6-month program, these additional fees can add $500 or more to the total cost.
BACtrack Drive charges a flat $99 per month for monthly service, installation, calibration visits, and standard support. Device removal is handled separately and pricing varies. For a 6-month program, the total cost with BACtrack Drive is $594 before any device removal cost, compared to an industry average of $1,000 to $1,500 when all fees are included.
