What Happens at Your Installation
Where this fits in getting your license back
The interlock installation is one step in the DMV's restricted-license process, alongside your SR-22 filing and reinstatement fee. The DMV's paperwork lists your required steps.
What to bring to your installation
- Your driver's license or other photo ID
- Current vehicle registration
- Proof of insurance
- Your DMV notice or court order, if you have one
- If you don't own the car: a Permission to Install form signed by the owner
Your car needs to start, run, and shift into drive and reverse, with the battery connected.
